Do you believe everything you read in the Bible?
There are different types of writings in the Bible. For example, there are parables (such as the ones Jesus told); there are symbols (e.g. Jesus said, ‘I am the door); there are letters (such as the ones Paul wrote which are in our New Testament); there are history books (e.g. Genesis or Luke’s Gospel); there are the words spoken by men and women; we even sometimes read the words of the devil (e.g. in the garden of Eden). However, all Scripture is a true record of what took place. It is ‘given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness’.
The Bible is more than a book, it is a library of 66 books.
I have found that the very reading of the Bible leads one to start believing it. God speaks to us through His Word, and proves Himself as we read the Scripture for ourselves, instead of simply believing second hand opinions about it. Yes, I believe everything that is written in the Bible.
The best evidence of the Bible’s being the Word of God is found between its covers. – Charles Hodge
