How should a Christian live?

The moment a person receives Christ as Lord and Saviour, he or she enters into a wonderful relationship with the true and living God. This needs to be cultivated and deepened. Therefore, it is vital to spend time with the Lord and the Lord’s people. If a Christian is to grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ it is important to find a good, Bible teaching; and where one can start to be involved using one’s talents for God’s glory.

Spending time daily, systematically reading a portion of the Bible and praying is a key part of the Christian’s life. God will teach the Bible-reader and give a clearer understanding of His will for life. Praying is speaking to God. It involves worshipping Him, confessing sin, claiming new forgiveness and praying for the needs of others and one’s self.

A Christian will want to share the Gospel. Christians should not be secret disciples, but should make it a constant aim to introduce others to Christ, both by speaking about and living for Christ.

A Christian should keep trusting the Lord Jesus, the living Saviour, in times of joy or temptation, doubt of difficulty. He is a constant companion. If we ask Him, He will take us through every situation.

The Christian life is an exciting one, because the God of all creation comes to guide and guard in a very personal way. The Christian’s life is in His hands. His love is utterly consistent and He will never fail.

Remember, He takes a person as a sinner, and a Christian will never be a disappointment to Him! Step by step God will work in a believer to make him or her more like Himself.

God says, ‘Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.’ – Isaiah 41:10
