Questions about the Bible: 11. Isn’t God different in the Old and New Testaments?
Isn’t God different in the Old and New Testaments?
We have already discussed in previous chapters that the Old and New Testaments are completely consistent with each other. They interlock and complement each other perfectly.
God is utterly consistent and unchanging through all sorts of situations and trends. When the two Testaments are read as they were intended, they reveal the same God who is rich in mercy, but will not let sin go unpunished. Whether we are reading the Old or the New Testament we see the same characteristics of God being portrayed.
The God of the Old and New Testaments, the God of the Bible, is holy, powerful and just. He is also loving, full of love that we don’t deserve, and will fulfil His purposes.
