Where is a good place to begin reading the Bible?
God speaks through His word, the Bible. Therefore, it is not easy to single out one passage, but for someone who is beginning to consider the claims of Christ on them as individuals, I would recommend reading one of the four Gospels: Matthew (which looks at Christ as the King), Mark (which emphasises Jesus as a servant), Luke (depicting Christ as the Saviour of the world) and John (which is about Christ, the Son of God). John specifically says that he wrote his to help people come to belief in Christ. He wrote: ‘Truly Jesus did many other things in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.’ (John 20:30,31)
Read John’s Gospel with an open mind and God will speak to you through His Word.
